This month we have been focusing our learning around the questions ‘Where in the World am I?’.
In Literacy, we have read and explored the books Amazing Grace and Grace and Family by Mary Hoffman. We learnt all about Grace’s family and how no two are the same! We made sure we included some amazing adjectives in our writing.
In Mathematics, we have used our knowledge of tens and ones to partition two-digit numbers. While making sure our knowledge of place value is ready for the challenges in Year 1.
In Science, we have been learning all about the different seasons and what happens in the transition from Summer to Autumn. We went on a walk around school to find different signs that it was becoming Autumn. We have also been observing the temperature of our environment over a period of time to see how it changes!
In Geography, we have been learning all about the four countries that make up the United Kingdom; England, Northern Ireland, Wales and Scotland. We have explored each one individually and looked at pictures of exciting landmarks like the Loch Ness in the Scottish Highlands!
In Art, we have been practising our painting skills ready to complete our self-portraits. We have used ready mixed paint and water colours to explore the varying consistencies and shades.
